Many of us have all been there – we are in a rush to get out of the house and have absolutely no time to make a healthy breakfast…
… so even though we try to eat “healthy” we cave in to the temptation and stop at a fast food joint to pick up a hot meal – completely knocking us out of keto and filling our bodies with processed junk.
Or, we grab something extremely unhealthy from home like a carb-filled granola bar.
But there is a better way!
In fact, with just a little bit of planning, you can still eat a healthy (and hot breakfast)!
Here a few ideas to get you started.
Egg Muffins
To be clear – these are not your typical muffins!
Muffins are full of sugar and carbs – and you should avoid them at all costs.
But egg muffins are a healthy alternative – and they are easy to make.
And the best part of all is you can make a bunch of them at once and freeze ‘em!
Depending on what you like – you can really make these delicious little bites with your favorite ingredients.
A classic recipe includes beaten eggs, spinach, cheese – and your choice of meat (bacon or ham are fan favorites).
Then you just pour the mixture into a muffin pan and bake – that’s it!
Freeze the excess and in the morning you just need to heat ‘em up!
Eggs are full of protein, keto-friendly, and they are filling.
Taco Scramble
The night before, cook up some grass-feed beef and throw in some onions, tomatoes, spices, and whatever other veggies you’d like.
In the morning, simply heat it up – sprinkle on some cheddar cheese and fresh avocado, and you have a delicious and keto-friendly meal!
Don’t let the stereotypical “breakfast” fool ya – tacos are good any time of the day.
Bulletproof Coffee
Maybe you’re just not hungry in the morning.
Or, maybe you’re looking to experiment with intermittent fasting (there is some controversy – but many health experts still say you can drink bulletproof coffee while fasting).
Bulletproof coffee gives you a shot of caffeine to jump-start your day – and the healthy fats like MCT oil and butter will fill you up.
Note – bulletproof coffee is NOT your typical coffee (loaded with sugar and milk).
To make bulletproof coffee — just take your coffee, oil, and butter and blend together for 20-30 seconds.
The end result will end up looking foamy –and it will be the best coffee you’ve ever had!
Still think putting butter in your coffee sounds strange?
Here’s what a health coach had to say.
Women’s Health reported:
“Bulletproof Coffee is a great way to get healthy fats first thing in the morning,” says Kerry Bajaj, a Be Well Health Coach at Eleven Eleven Wellness Center in New York City. Starting the day with healthy fats provides energy, is good for cognitive function, and supports your hormonal system.”
Butter from grass-fed cows supplies a ratio of omega-3 to omega-6 fatty acids that’s far healthier than what comes from conventionally raised livestock (it’s actually similar to the healthy-fat breakdown of fatty fish). Meanwhile, MCTs are a unique form of fat that require less energy and enzymes to be digested when compared to another type of fat known as long-chain triglycerides, says Bajaj.”

Breakfast doesn’t have to be complicated.
