It’s a fact of life. As we age, our skin gets damaged. We get little crow’s feet in around our eyes, the pockets around our eyes start to droop, and our face begins to look more like a topographical map with all these crevices markded out.

But there is no need to despair. There are effective ways to stop, and even reverse the aging process. For instance, if you don’t have fish in your diet, you should change that. Salmon and other cold-water fish have high amounts of Omega 3’s. These essential fatty acids (EFAs) will help keep skin looking youthful.

Just look at the Japanese. Not only do they claim the highest amount of centenarians in the world, but often it’s hard to gauge their age accurately on looks alone. And no wonder… as an Island country, they rely heavily on fish for their diet

Anther way to use your diet in the fight against wrinkles is by chocolate! A study recorded by the National Center for Biotechnology Information had this to stay about cocoa and its effects on the skin

A growing body of evidence from clinical and bench research has begun to provide scientific validation for the use of cocoa-derived phytochemicals as an effective approach for skin protection

They went on to deduce that the phyochemicals contained within cocoa have anti-inflammatory properties, and their deployment shows up in protecting the skin against aging. How great- Pass the Hershey’s!

Then there’s vitamin C. Vitamin C is known to produce collagen, an agent that helps tighten skin. And if you put it directly on your face in the form of a moisturizing lotion, you’ll give your face that added rejuvenation. Just be careful when choosing a moisturizing cream with Vitamin C. Look for something non-comedogenic; Otherwise you risk clogging your pores which could to an acne breakout.

While on the subject of breakouts, they can actually be caused by washing your face too often. You see, every time you wash your face, you strip the natural oils from your skin. To compensate for the dryness, the body creates more oil, and goes into over production. If you are prone to breakouts from oily skin, this could become an ongoing cycle. Wash your face once or twice per day at max.

Lastly, use a loofah pad to scrub your face. A light scrub will strip away dead cells, open pores clogged with dirt, and stimulate blood flow to the skin. Don’t overdo it though! A loofah can really irritate the skin if you are trying to use it like a sponge on a frying pan. Just a gentle scrub will do.

Taking care of your face is an investment But the return is clear skin smooth skin.

  1. Great tips to minimize or prevent wrinkles on your face! Dr. Oz recommends using hyraluronic acid and liquid Vitamin C. I’ve used both for about 6 months and notice a big difference after applying BUT don’t notice much of a difference after washing it off in the evening.
